Great Finds At The Mall

I was browsing through some stores while waiting for my daughters to finish a movie in the theatre at Great Mall last weekend.  I was surprised to see there were so many great sales going on.  It seemed that many stores were giving an additional 40% off clearance items or 25 to 30% off sale items.  Take a look at my great finds at the clearance section:

I love these ocean theme gold necklace and earrings from Off Fifth and there were on an additonal 40% off sale:

and this sterling silver chain necklace can be worn short or long:

This simple desgin gold necklace was on clearance from Last call /Neiman Marcus with an additonal 30% off:

Since metallic is so in trend now, I am happy to have found this woven leather handbag in metallic by Elliot Lucas:

Shoes and clothing were on an addtional 40% off sale, but I was not in the mood to shop for those then.  Besides, I was already content with what I had  bought.

Gold Is In

After we left SFMOMA, we headed to the nearby Westfield Mall which is where the Bloomingdale's  is located.  As I was walking around in my favorite department-handbags-I noticed that there were so many handbags in gold.   This must be the trend this year, well, at least for this summer.  I hadn't been following the trend lately as I was so busy with taking care of some home business.  I did notice that a lot of people were wearing gold sandals while I was shopping in Stanford Mall at Palo Alto last week.  I concluded that Gold must be the trend now.  I did manage to buy myself a couple of pairs of gold shoes on that day for the summer.  Now I am in search of a gold handbag.  Look at all these gold handbags at Bloomingdale's.  One just can't miss the "gold is in".

I liked the Tory Burch clutch on the upper right:

I don't usually fancy Kate Spade's colorful designs, but the tote bag on the upper right was my favorite:

The bottom left  is a nice size and shape for me.  I liked the outside pocket design:
These were not on sale, and they were really out of my budget. It doesn't hurt to look at them, does it?

After the trip to San Francisco, I got an urge to shop for something gold.  I was shopping at Nordstrom at Stanford shopping mall one day and found these beautiful gold sandals.  These were so right to wear to dinner during the warm summer evening:

and this pair of low heels are so comfortable to wear and can be worn casually or dressed up at anytime:

Perfect Handbag for Travel

I was very happy to see this BCBG leather handbag while shopping in the mall on Saturday.  It meets all the requirements I need for a handbag for traveling.  I am not tall enough to carry a large bag but really needed one that has enough room to travel while still fashionable for sightseeing or shopping.  The size of this handbag is just right for me. It comes with short handles and an adjustable shoulder strap.  I especially like the metal chains on it. It gives a modern feel to it. The shoulder strap in this picture was shorten and hit above my hip, which is good for me:

It can also be used as a tote bag to bring extra items onto the airplane or a shopping bag to free up my hands while sight seeing.

Front view:

Back view:

It's roomy inside and there are two open and zipper pockets for easy access to little items such as a cell phone, iPod, earbuds, etc.

It is important for me that the handbag also has a zipper pocket on the outside so that I can retrieve my passport and other ID conveniently.  It is also great that it has a zipper closure on top so that things will not fall out of the handbag if I accidentally drop it.

I also like the fact that it's light-weight and fashionable enough to go out without packing an extra handbag in the suitcase.  This also comes in black. The picture here shown the strap was extended:

It seems the white looks better for this handbag. I think I will most likely get the white one since I usually travel in the summer. I didn't get the handbag because it wasn't on sale.  Hopefully,  it will be on sale the next time I go shopping again.

Neiman Marcus One Day Fashion Event

I received an email yesterday from Neiman Marcus that they are having a fashion event on March 4,2010.  I thought all of you fashionistas would like to know and go there for the event.  It's a one day only event.  To find out more about the event, go here NM Fashion Event to check out the store location in your area. I have never been to event like this before and I am exciting to go there.  I will report all the details about the event later on my blog.

There was also a big sale at the Gucci Outlet Store for 40% off  in Vacaville Premium Outlet Mall during Valentine's weekend.  I did not go there but my friend got a handbag for less than $300. I have several requests from those who were not able to go to post  a picture of the handbag my friend bought.  I like the style and it's a good size to carry.  Here it is for your enjoyment:
