Japanese Style Pork over Rice 洋風豚肉飯

This is a Japanese style recipe I tried last night.  It's a simple dish to make and can be served either over white rice or fried rice.


Ingredients:

Olive oil
Garlic
Pork
1/2 onion
Fresh Japanese mushrooms
1 Bay leave
Mixed sauce: 1 tbsp Mirin, 1/4 cup chicken broth, 1 tbsp ketchup
Black pepper


Directions:
  1. Heat pan with olive oil.
  2. Saute garlic and pork.
  3. Add in onion and saute until fragrant.
  4. Add in mushrooms and saute until cooked.
  5. Stir in flour and cooked until thicken.
  6. Add the mixed sauce and mix well.
  7. Add bay leave and cook for 3 minutes.
  8. Sprinkle some pepper.
  9. Serve over Japanese fried rice* (see below for recipe)

Japanese Fried Rice

Cook rice, let cool off.
Heat pan and melt some butter , stir in cooked rice.  Add salt to prefer taste.
Sprinkle parsley or green onion on top.
